GameStop recently announced that they will be shutting down both their iOS and browser NFT wallet on November 1st, 2023. Naturally, many users are looking for a new wallet worth trying.
MyEtherWallet was founded in 2015, less than a month after Ethereum mainnet went live. Since then, we haven't stopped building, we've survived every bear market, and we are still creating great new tools for interacting with the most popular blockchains! Boasting over 3 million monthly active users across our products, come see what all the hype is about!
Use this step-by-step guide for help importing your GameStop wallet into Enkrypt, a self custodial and multichain crypto wallet!
First you'll need to access your Recovery Phrase, also known as a "Seed phrase" or "Secret phrase".
Open up your GameStop Wallet. Click on your account badge on the top right corner of the app.
A drop-down menu will appear. Click on "Settings".
Click on "Export Secret Phrase".
Read the in-app instructions carefully, then enter your password. Click on "Export Secret Phrase" when you're ready.
Once you click on "Export Secret Phrase", your secret phrase will appear for anyone to see! Make sure you're alone and that no one can see your computer screen.
Once your secret phrase is displayed on screen, it is recommended to write it down on a piece of paper rather than screenshotting it. Screenshots live on your computer and are vulnerable to being hacked, so to be safe you never want to screenshot your secret phrase.
Once you have your secret phrase written down and safe, head to enkrypt.com.
From here you need to import your recovery phrase into Enkrypt.
Click on "Download" on the top right corner.
After downloading the extension, click on "Restore existing wallet".
Click on "Use recovery phrase".
Enter in your recovery phrase from earlier here.
Time to pick a password! Enter your desired password and click on "Next".
Confirm the password and click "Next".
You're done! Open Enkrypt to access your wallet - you'll see all of your assets in there!
