Use Abstract Chain in Enkrypt

It's web3 without the high fees. Add Abstract Chain to Enkrypt and get started on Abstract Chain using this guide!

Use Abstract Chain in Enkrypt

Get your Ethereum assets onto Abstract to start using web3 with lower fees

Enkrypt is a multichain, non-custodial, and open-source web3 browser wallet built by the team behind MEW (MyEtherWallet). With Enkrypt, users and developers can generate accounts, manage tokens and NFTs, and interact with DApps on Abstract, as well as Solana, Bitcoin, Substrate and EVM chains. Follow the instructions in this guide in order to use Abstract on Enkrypt!

Layer 2s and scalability networks like Abstract are compatible with Ethereum, but you can't just send assets from Ethereum to Abstract in a regular transaction. The way to transfer assets between Ethereum and Layer 2s is through applications called bridges.

To start using the Abstract network instead of Ethereum, you will need to bridge your assets to Abstract.

Connecting Enkrypt to Abstract

First, you will need to add the Abstract network as a custom network.

Unlock your Enkrypt wallet, then click the 3 dot menu at the top of the wallet and select ‘Other networks’.

Click the plus sign on the pop up.

Enter the RPC URL for the Abstract network and it should autofill. You can find this information in the documentation for the Abstract network.

Click ‘Add network’ when you have entered the information.

You will see the Abstract network at the bottom of the ‘Pinned’ list.

Congratulations, you successfully added the Abstract network to Enkrypt and can now connect to DApps on the Abstract network!

Bridging your tokens to Abstract

First, head over to the Abstract Bridge then click the ‘Connect wallet’ button.

Abstract Bridge is a third-party DApp and is not affiliated with MEW in any way. Bridging assets from network to network involves some inherent risk. Please do your research and proceed at your own discretion.

Select the ‘Enkrypt’ option.

On the Enkrypt pop up, select the account you want to connect with then select ‘Connect’.

Select the ‘From’ dropdown to open the network selection menu.

Select the network you want to bridge from. We will choose Ethereum for this example.

Select the ‘ETH’ token dropdown to open the token selection menu.

Select the token you want to bridge. We will choose ETH for this example.

Click the ‘To’ dropdown to open the network selection menu.

Select the network you want to bridge to. We will choose Abstract since we want to bridge to the Abstract network.

Enter the amount you want to bridge then click ‘Continue’.

There may be a wallet warning about making sure your wallet supports the network. You can click ‘I understand, proceed to bridge’ since we already added the Abstract network on Enkrypt.

Review your transaction then click ‘Bridge now’ when you are ready to bridge.

On the Enkrypt pop up, confirm the transaction by clicking ‘Send’.

The transaction will be broadcasted and you will need to wait for it to be confirmed on the Ethereum blockchain then processed on Abstract. This process can take about 15 minutes.

You can close out of this page, make another transaction or wait for the transaction to complete.

Once the transaction has completed the page will now display ‘Transaction completed’.

You will see the ETH in your Enkrypt wallet on the Abstract network.

Swap tokens

First head to Relay then click ‘Connect’.

Disclaimer: Keep in mind Relay is a third-party DApp and is not affiliated with MEW in any way. Using DeFi involves some inherent risk. Please do your research and proceed at your own discretion.

Select ‘Enkrypt’.

Select ‘EVM’.

Select the account you want to connect with then click ‘Connect’.

Click the ‘From’ token dropdown to open the token menu selection.

Select the token you want to swap. We will choose ‘Ether’ for this example.

Select the ‘To’ token dropdown to open the token menu selection.

Select the token you want to receive. We will select ‘Tether USD’ for this example.

Enter the amount you want to swap then click ‘Review’.

Review the swap quote then click ‘Swap’.

On the Enkrypt pop up, confirm the transaction by clicking the ‘Send’ button.

You should see the pop up display that your tokens were successfully swapped.

You can see your tokens in your Enkrypt wallet.

If you do not see your tokens in your wallet, you may need to add the tokens as a custom token. You can click ‘Add custom token’ then paste the token’s contract address then click ‘Add token’.
