How to Manage Ethereum Classic (ETC) in Enkrypt
Ethereum Classic is the Ethereum that never forked. Manage your ETC and Ethereum Classoc assets using a multichain ETC wallet like Enkrypt!

Have you mined Ethereum Classic (ETC) in the past or received ETC to your MEW (MyEtherWallet) wallet (or any other Ethereum wallet), but now can’t find it or send it out? You’re not alone — and don’t worry, your ETC isn’t lost.
This guide will show you exactly how to recover and manage your ETC using Enkrypt, the multichain wallet from the same team behind MEW.
Why Can’t I Access My ETC in MEW?
The MyEtherWallet.com web platform has always supported Ethereum Classic, and continues to do so. However, MEW mobile does not support ETC. Previously, users could connect their MEW mobile app to MEW web to manage ETC, but that functionality is no longer available.
Today, MEW Mobile primarily supports Ethereum, the most popular layer 2s, and most recently, Bitcoin.
If you’re unable to see your ETC in MEW Mobile, your funds are still safe — they’re simply on a network that MEW Mobile doesn’t currently support.
The Solution: Use Enkrypt
The easiest way to access and manage your ETC now is through Enkrypt — a secure, multichain wallet that fully supports Ethereum Classic and many other networks.
By importing your MEW Mobile wallet into Enkrypt, you’ll be able to see, manage, and send your ETC with ease. You can also use this guide to import a phrase from any other wallet that doesn't support ETC, so you can manage or withdraw it using Enkrypt.
Step-by-Step: Recover Your ETC in Enkrypt
Step 1: Export Your Recovery Phrase from MEW Mobile
First, you’ll need to retrieve your wallet’s recovery phrase from MEW Mobile:
- Open the MEW Mobile app.
- Navigate to: ‘Settings and support’ → ‘View my recovery phrase’
- Carefully write down your 12- or 24-word recovery phrase somewhere safe.
⚠️ Important: Never share your recovery phrase with anyone. This phrase gives full access to your wallet.
Step 2: Install Enkrypt
Next, install the Enkrypt wallet:
- Browser Extension: Available on Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Safari.
To be safe, download Enkrypt only from the official website: 👉 Enkrypt.com
Step 3: Import Your Wallet into Enkrypt
Once installed, follow these steps:
- Open Enkrypt and select Restore Wallet.
- Enter the recovery phrase from your MEW Mobile wallet.
- Complete the setup process.
Enkrypt will automatically import your wallet addresses — including those holding ETC.
Step 4: Access and Manage Your ETC
- In Enkrypt, select the Ethereum Classic (ETC) network from the network list.
- Your ETC balance will now appear.
- You can now send, receive, or manage your ETC right inside Enkrypt.
Common Questions & Troubleshooting
My ETC Isn’t Showing Up — What Do I Do?
- Double-check that you’ve selected the Ethereum Classic (ETC) network in Enkrypt.
- Check the address to confirm it's where you expect your ETC assets to be. If you're not sure, search the address on an ETC explorer.
- Confirm that your recovery phrase was entered correctly.
- Try refreshing the app or reimporting your wallet if necessary.
Is This Process Safe?
Yes! Your funds remain in your wallet at all times. You’re simply accessing them through a different wallet interface that supports ETC.
Can I Move Back to MEW Mobile Later?
Your MEW mobile (or any other wallet you import into Enkrypt) remains active as long as you continue using the app. You are now accessing this same wallet through two interfaces – your original wallet and Enkrypt.
Can I Delete My Enkrypt Account After I Move My ETC?
Enkrypt is a self custody wallet. We don't create user accounts or have any access to user wallets. If you no longer need to use the Enkrypt wallet, simply reset the wallet and remove the browser extension. Make sure that you still have your wallet recovery phrase that you used for import safely written down.
Helpful Tips
- Always ensure you’re using the correct network (Ethereum Classic) before sending ETC.
- Store your recovery phrase securely — offline and in a safe place.
- You can also use Enkrypt to manage additional assets from the same wallet, across more than 70 networks.
Take Back Control of Your ETC
If you’ve been stuck trying to access ETC from an unsupported wallet, Enkrypt makes it easy. By importing your wallet, you can securely manage and send your ETC again — all from one place.
No complicated steps, no lost funds — just simple, secure access to your ETC.
