How to Bridge to zkSync

Use our web3 multichain zkSync wallet Enkrypt to bridge to zkSync.

How to Bridge to zkSync

Bridges enable seamless cross-chain transactions, allowing users to move their digital assets between various blockchains without needing to rely on centralized exchanges or multiple wallets. As the number of blockchain networks has grown, so has the need for compatibility between different ecosystems. This process often involves the creation of wrapped tokens or pegged assets that represent the original asset on the destination blockchain, maintaining a 1:1 value ratio.

Several projects are working on bridging solutions, such as Cosmos, Polkadot, and Chainlink, each with their unique approach to solving interoperability challenges. These solutions not only promote the growth and usability of the entire cryptocurrency ecosystem but also help reduce fragmentation and improve overall efficiency.

*Bridging from chain to chain is always a security risk. Please continue at your own discretion, and do your own research before bridging assets from one chain to another. The following guide is not financial advice. Always do your own research. *

First things first - you’ll need a wallet that supports zkSync, like Enkrypt. To download Enkrypt, click here. For help installing and setting up Enkrypt, click here.

To begin, head to Orbiter.finance. The website should look like the screenshot below (As of May 3rd, 2023).

Orbiter is currently the most widely used bridge to the zkSync ecosytem. We are using Orbiter as an example, Enkrypt is not affiliated or partnered with Orbiter.finance.  Always double-check to make sure you’re on the official website and be extra careful of phishing scams!

Enkrypt will automatically pop-up, asking you to connect. Click "Connect".

Using the interface shown below, enter in how much you'd like to bridge. Select which chain you're bridging from and which one you're bridging to. Click on "Send" when you're ready.

After entering in the amount that you'd like to bridge the following will pop-up asking you to confirm the transaction. Click on "Confirm and Send" to continue.

Enkrypt will ask you to verify the transaction. Click on "Send".

After verifying the transaction, you'll see a "Processing" window. This indicates that youre Ethereum is in the process of bridging over to zkSync Era.

When it's all done processing, it'll notify you that it's completed. At this point you've successfully bridged to zkSync Era!

Open Enkrypt to see your zkSync balance. Welcome to the multichain future!
