Layer 2s and scalability networks like Taraxa are compatible with Ethereum, but you can't just send assets from Ethereum to Taraxa in a regular transaction. The way to transfer assets between Ethereum and scalability networks is through applications called bridges.
To start using the Taraxa network instead of Ethereum, you will need to bridge your assets to Taraxa.
Bridging your Tokens
First, head to the Ficus Root Bridge website then click ‘Connect wallet’.
Ficus Root Bridge is a third-party DApp and is not affiliated with MEW in any way. Bridging assets from network to network involves some inherent risk. Please do your research and proceed at your own discretion.
On the Enkrypt pop up, select the account you want to connect with then click ‘Connect’.
Select the ‘From’ dropdown to open the network selection menu.
Select the network you want to bridge from. We will leave it on the Ethereum network for this example.
Select the ‘To’ network dropdown then select the network you want to bridge to. We will leave it on the Taraxa network.
Click ‘Begin new transfer’.
Click the ‘Select coin’ dropdown to open the token selection menu.
Select the token you want to bridge. We will choose TARA for this example as it is the native coin on Taraxa.
You can get TARA by swapping in your Enkrypt wallet.
Enter the amount you want to bridge from Ethereum then click ‘Continue’.
Review your transaction then click ‘Confirm’.
Confirm the approval transaction on the Enkrypt pop up by clicking ‘Send’.
Then confirm the bridge transaction on the Enkrypt pop up. The bridge transaction will take a fee.
Once your transaction is broadcasted you will see a pop up stating the action was performed successfully.
You should see your transaction under the ‘History’ tab. The bridging process will take about 20 minutes but may take a bit longer depending on network congestion.
Once the bridging process is complete, you should see the tokens in your Enkrypt wallet on the Taraxa network.
