Get your Ethereum assets onto Story to start using web3 with lower fees
Enkrypt, developed by the MyEtherWallet (MEW) team, is a multichain, non-custodial, open-source web3 browser wallet. It enables users and developers to create accounts, manage tokens and NFTs, and interact with DApps across Story, Solana, Bitcoin, Substrate, and EVM networks. Use this guide to explore Story with Enkrypt!
Layer 2s and scalability networks like Story are compatible with Ethereum, but you can't just send assets from Ethereum to Story in a regular transaction. The way to transfer assets between Ethereum and scalability networks is through applications called bridges.
To start using the Story network instead of Ethereum, you will need to bridge your assets to Story.
Bridging your Tokens
First, head to the deBridge website then click ‘Connect wallet’.
deBridge is a third-party DApp and is not affiliated with MEW in any way. Bridging assets from network to network involves some inherent risk. Please do your research and proceed at your own discretion.
Select ‘Browser Wallet’.
Select ‘Connect wallet’ on the pop up.
On the Enkrypt pop up, select the wallet you want to connect with then select ‘Connect’.
We will leave everything on the default settings, which should have ‘Market’ selected above the swap form.
Click the ‘You pay’ token dropdown to open the token selection menu.
Select the network you want to bridge from then select the token you want to bridge. We will choose Ethereum and the ETH token for this example.
Click the ‘You receive’ token dropdown to open the token selection menu.
Select the network you want to bridge to and the token you want to receive. We will choose the Story network and the IP token for this example.
Enter the amount you want to bridge. You can select to trade and send to another address but we will leave that unchecked for this example.
Click ‘Confirm trade’ to continue.
You may get a pop up that will ask you to agree to the terms and conditions. Click ‘Sign and proceed’.
On the Enkrypt pop up, sign the message by clicking ‘Sign’.
Confirm the bridge transaction on the Enkrypt pop up by clicking ‘Send’.
You should see your transaction is broadcasted and is being processed at the bottom of the page.
Once the transaction is confirmed, it will now state that your order was fulfilled.
You should now see your tokens in your Enkrypt on the Story network.
