Enkrypt, developed by the MyEtherWallet (MEW) team, is a multichain, non-custodial, open-source web3 browser wallet. It enables users and developers to create accounts, manage tokens and NFTs, and interact with DApps across Ink, Solana, Bitcoin, Substrate, and EVM networks. Use this guide to explore Ink with Enkrypt!
Layer 2s and scalability networks like Ink are compatible with Ethereum, but you can't just send assets from Ethereum to Ink in a regular transaction. The way to transfer assets between Ethereum and scalability networks is through applications called bridges.
To start using the Ink network instead of Ethereum, you will need to bridge your assets to Ink.
Bridging your Tokens
First, head to the Brid.gg website then click ‘Connect wallet’.
Brid.gg is a third-party DApp and is not affiliated with MEW in any way. Bridging assets from network to network involves some inherent risk. Please do your research and proceed at your own discretion.
Select the ‘Enkrypt’ option.
On the Enkrypt pop up, select the account you want to connect with then click ‘Connect’.
Select the ‘From’ dropdown to open the network selection menu.
Select the network you want to bridge from. We will leave it on the Ethereum network for this example.
Select the ‘To’ network dropdown then select the network you want to bridge to. We will leave it on Ink network.
Select the ‘You send’ token dropdown to open the token selection menu.
Select the token you want to bridge. We will choose ETH since it is the only option for this example.
Enter the amount you want to bridge then click ‘Review Transaction’.
Review your transaction then check the checkbox to access the terms and click ‘Confirm’.
On the Enkrypt pop up, confirm the transaction by clicking ‘Send’.
Your transaction should now be processing.
Once your transaction is processed, you will need to wait for Brid.gg to relay the transaction on the Ink network.
Once the bridging process is complete, the pop up should state the your transaction is complete.
You should see your tokens in your Enkrypt wallet on the Ink network!
