How to bridge to Canto using Enkrypt

Use the multichain web3 browser extension wallet Enkrypt to bridge from Ethereum to Canto EVM.

How to bridge to Canto using Enkrypt

‌Canto is an L1 built on the same principles that started crypto in the first place - decentralization, accessibility, transparency and fairness in a modern world.

Enkrypt is a multichain, non-custodial, and open-source web3 browser wallet built by the team behind MEW (MyEtherWallet). With Enkrypt, users and developers can generate accounts, manage tokens and NFTs, and interact with DApps on Canto, as well as Substrate and EVM chains.

In order to interact with Canto DApps, you will need to bridge your assets from Ethereum to Canto EVM. This is a two step process. Follow the guide below to get started!

*Bridging from chain to chain is always a security risk. We are using this bridge solely as an example. Please continue at your own discretion, and do your own research before bridging assets from one chain to another.*

First things first - make sure you have Enkrypt installed! Visit our website to download. For help installing and setting up Enkrypt, click here.

To begin the bridging process, head to the Canto bridge. Once there, connect your wallet. Make sure you're on Ethereum in Enkrypt, and that Canto network is enabled.

Before bridging to Canto, you must generate a Canto public key by clicking on the red banner at the top of the page. You'll need at least 0.01 ETH for the transaction.

Enkrypt will pop up. Sign the transaction to continue.

Select the token you would like to bridge (USDC, USDT, or WETH) and input the quantity. Quantities less than 1 must include a 0 in the ones place value (e.g. 0.99).

After selecting the token to bridge and the specified amount, Enkrypt will pop up again. Note there will be a gas fee. You can adjust the fee for a faster transaction.  When you’re ready, sign the transaction.

At this point your funds will be on Canto mainnet. If all you want to do is HODL, you can be done here. If you want to interact with dApps on Canto, you'll have to bridge from Canto mainnet to Canto EVM. To do so, continue to step 2 as shown below. Please note that you will be unable to view your assets in Enkrypt until you’re on Canto EVM.

Enter the amount of Canto you want to bridge from mainnet to EVM Canto.

The "enter amount" button will change to "Bridge". Click on "Bridge".

A transaction window will pop up. Click on sign.

Assets bridged to Canto will arrive on the native Canto blockchain 96 ETH blocks (20 minutes) after the Ethereum transfer is confirmed. Check your Enkrypt wallet to see your Canto balance.
